The Computer Centre at GRVSOM is equipped with cutting-edge computing resources accessible to students, faculty, and departments. It houses branded PCs and laptops, supported by high-performance DELL and HP servers, all interconnected via an Ethernet LAN. The entire system benefits from a dedicated 200 Mbps leased line through fiber optic connectivity, ensuring seamless internet access. High-speed color and mono LaserJet network printers, as well as scanning facilities, are also available.
Online communication is facilitated through tools such as Google Meet, which are utilized for virtual meetings, webinars, and online classes.
The campus network is secured by the Sophos XG330 firewall, which offers comprehensive protection including antivirus, anti-spam, bandwidth management, and multiple gateways with an automatic fail-over feature. All systems are safeguarded against malware and spyware through centrally managed Symantec Endpoint Protection.
The entire GRVSOM campus is Wi-Fi enabled, featuring Ruckus ZoneFlex R610 dual-band smart access points managed by a ZoneDirector 1200 controller, ensuring strong and reliable wireless connectivity throughout.
Every student, faculty, and staff member is assigned a personalized email ID. The campus’s Active Directory and web server are hosted internally within the Computer Centre, with Sun storage deployed for robust data backup solutions. GRVSOM has also implemented an advanced Campus Management System, accessible via https://student.grvsom.in and https://ecampus.grvsom.in, catering to the administrative and academic needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Students receive institutional email addresses under the grvsom.in domain. GRVSOM provides access to G Suite for Education (now Google Workspace for Education) to all faculty, students, staff, and alumni. This includes a suite of cloud-based tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other productivity and collaboration applications.
Faculty-student engagement is further supported by Moodle, an e-learning platform for virtual classrooms and digital coursework. The computer labs are equipped with modern multimedia tools and the latest software technologies.
Classrooms in the new academic block and traditional learning centers are furnished with ergonomically designed desks for enhanced student comfort. Two classrooms are fully equipped with 120 high-performance desktop computers.
GRVSOM has also established two hybrid classrooms with two-way interactive capabilities. These classrooms support blended learning by enabling seamless interaction between on-campus students practicing social distancing and remote learners attending from home.
A dedicated, standalone Language Laboratory enhances the language learning experience at GRVSOM. Outfitted with interactive English learning software and headsets with microphones, the lab supports skill development in listening, speaking, reading, writing, as well as classroom assessment and placement preparation.
